Tony T to Oregon?

I certainly hope we counter offer but this sounds like close to a done deal.

I like Dawson and think he’d do fine back at DL. Giving Busch OLBs makes me a little wary as he’s only coached this 1 season in his career I believe, but his recruiting would make up for any coaching deficiencies. To me, if we could bring in a guy with more recruiting chops to coach RBs it’d be an easier sell.

Recruiting at the moment doesn’t matter. Sorry, it just doesn’t. You have to win. Ron Brown is 100% a good P5 running backs coach and Busch is the same as a defensive assistant.

It still matters. Winning six games in 2022 ain't gonna mean a lick if you go right back to winning three a year in 23-24.

If Frost wins 6 in 2022 he’s not the head coach in 23.

We need one running back in the 23 class. Ron Brown can handle that. He also makes your room not suck and is probably the one human in the world who can maximize Yant.

And they are supposed to be getting Tosh Lupoi on their defensive staff too.

Too much doom and gloom here. These were the same kind of reports that came out about Fisher the last couple years. I'm sure Tuioti will give Frost a chance at a counter offer.

I’m so fucking jaded about Nebraska football anymore.
Maybe we only win three games without coach T next year. Maybe only four or five?
We’re not going to win ten with him.
Fuck it all.

Nebraska DL coach Tony Tuioti to join Dan Lanning's staff at Oregon

ByERIK SKOPIL 12 minutes ago

Veteran defensive line coach Tony Tuioti will join Dan Lanning's staff in Eugene, a source told DuckTerritory.com. Per the source, the hiring is "a done deal", confirming a FootballScoop.com report on Tuesday evening which stated that he was Lanning's target to become the new defensive line coach.

Tuioiti has spent the past five years as a collegiate defensive line coach. He's spent the past three seasons at Nebraska and the two before that out west in the Pac-12 at California. An All-WAC defensive lineman at Hawaii in the late 1990s, Tuoiti's first six years of collegiate coaching came at his alma mater from 2008-13. He coached linebackers and defensive linemen, and also spent time as a director of personnel.

He also spent two years as a quality control coach with the Cleveland Browns.

The hiring of Tuioiti also indicates that current defensive line coach Joe Salave'a will not be retained by Lanning.

Tuioiti is not the first coach to be linked to a position on Lanning's staff. Oregon has already officially announced the addition of Kenny Dillingham as the offensive coordinator and Matthew Powledge as co-defenisve coordinator.
