I would never take the time to do this, but if a person really wanted to go back and make a cut up of Martinez’s game film I guarantee opinions would change about the offensive line being Martinez’s problem.
That dude missed more reads and was very inconsistent from an accuracy standpoint. Announcers would talk about it all the time, you could always tell they were biting their tongue after it kept repeating itself throughout the game haha.
Also, I’ve seen Martinez drop back, not see an open receiver, unnecessarily do his best Tommy Armstrong spin move impression and then look like he’s running for his life, about 1000 times.
I’m not expecting it but it wouldn’t shock me if the lone fact that CT will drop back and let go of the ball, will make us think “Wow, our OLine looks better!”
Personally think he’ll be a downgrade. Just a feeling. If he doesn’t turn the ball over. May be slightly better. But I’m also a Debbie downer. So take it with a grade of slaw

All jokes aside, for what we lose with Adrian's ability to run, I think we gain with Thompsons' touch on passes that Martinez never figured out. That makes that a lateral move. All it takes is getting lucky once or twice on game winning drives to be better than Adrian was at that.

Possibly. But I don’t see Thompson being able to escape pressure as well, so he’ll get killed or take more sacks, etc. I’m not expecting the OL to be much better if any at all. But again. I’m about as Debbie Downer as they come.

I think Thompson will get rid of the ball quicker. Which isn't saying much, I'm confident in saying that Martinez held the ball way longer than most of his counterparts.

I guess I would say if this turns out to be simply a lateral move with give and takes that don't do much then it'll be hard to see much better than the last 4 years.

If I'm not mistaken I don't think Martinez has ever been a winning QB on the college or high school level. And has missed games due to injuries for something like the last 6 seasons. Bad play calling, bad QB coach, dam slow blinker, bad O Line, late game throwing more Interceptions than TD's........ He was not put in a good situation with the O Line or coaching but he also didn't do himself favors with his poor decision making in close games.
