Smothers would be my bet. I expect Chubba to be QB2 and frankly wouldn't surprise me if he was pushing Casey. Plus I know Chubba is Whips guy. If Whip was at Pitt Chubba would be there. Same with WW3.
Smothers could be a solid G5 QB.

You’d have to think in a year Harrberg will be leaving too unless he’s just a Husker at heart and wants to stay. I don’t believe he’ll warrant a scholarship after this season with Maybe Casey on the roster, purdy, Torres, the new short guy and whoever they target in 2024.
I sure hope it's not Chubba. I really like his arm strength and speed. And there's been a lot written about how the QB room isn't settled. Hope there weren't any promises made to Casey

Think there’s any chance a guy like HH is being found a new home?
I know, I think there were. There was an interview where he was asked why he came here and he said something to the effect of, I believe I will be the starter and there were things that were said by Scott and the coaching staff and I trust what they told me. Sounded to me like he was saying he'd been told he would start.

Wouldn't surprise me.
I frankly think if he isn't progressing by now he probably needs to be processed.
There isn't a reason for us to take too many "projects" at QB here. With our nil, QB coach, etc... We can do better than hoping to cash a lottery ticket.
I need to ask more on him though and see where he is at.

This was running through my head when I wrote my QB preview.
I have heard great things about Chubba and he really impressed me. Then iirc @slattimer talked up Smothers from the practice he saw in the spring over Casey.
