What's even more impressive is that the defense was still using play cards for assignments during practice as of Wednesday this week. And there was very little focus on what Indiana does. One segment vs 4 previously.

Pretty amazing what happens when you allow players to simply line up, react, and play football, not think.

Saw Mickey say he wasn't happy with the penalties so he said he would probably have Ref's at 3 practices this week

Let's not be crazy. There were multiple ones last year that were more impressive. Indiana might be the worst team in the B1G.
They beat Illinois who is outstanding. Jimmy your takes are circling the drain. You need a reset. Take a couple days off to recoup

Chins has never fielded a good defense. Not sure why anyone is surprised. You boys are slow learners

It's a good win for Indiana beating Illinois. But we were facing them with 4 of their Offensive Starters being out, including their Top 2 WR's so it doesn't feel like we got them a their best like Illinois did. A Win is a Win so I'm gonna be excited about it and liked the passion & energy we played with.

The big thing was just getting a win period for confidence. If we can win at Rutgers and get two in a row who knows what might happen then. The good thing for us is the BIG west isn’t very good so you never know.

More impressive with a bunch of super seniors, so yes you are correct on that. Chinander had never brought as much pressure as last night. He’d let opposing teams pick his defense apart. Let’s be real here if it wasn’t for a bunch of sixth year players Chinander would of never had a formidable defense his entire time here. He will never be a d coordinator at any school worth a shit again.

Let's move those goal posts on over then.

I'm not trying to argue Chin is good by any means. Your words were "defensive performance".

Hahaha. Damn man I totally moved the goalposts!
I do agree it's one of the better ones. They still gave up 21 points in the first half. Really 14 since the defense didnt fumble in the endzone.

Not sure if it's more impressive than Northwestern last year. NW was really bad but I have a suspicion Indiana will end up with the worst or very close to the worst record in the B1G this year.

I think Mich St is the best of the last 5ish years. Walker was really good and they shut him and the rest of the offense down completely in the 2nd half. They averaged 33 ppg last year and we held them to 23 (16 on the defense).
