Seems dumb. Analyst roles seem like a great way for hs coaches to move up so idk why you'd penalize the ones who have talented players from job opportunities. Wazzu hired Cam Ward's coach from incarnate word and he followed and that doesn't seem different.
Obviously it's the NCAA so it's all dumb
I think the “intent” of the rule is smart in that they don’t want family members and/or a coach to get a job basically handed to them to persuade a player to commit. The problem is it doesn’t help some coaches who genuinely have earned the job in some cases because they produce great talent and schools don’t want to have a lapse of talent acquisitions at a school just because they hired a coach.
