Things you forget about when you fire a HC..

All I’m saying is Duval and Dave have made up that space, and you never know with a new hire. Could think differently and ruin all that progress. Seems to be “The Nebraska Way” to not want to adapt to the BIG at this point
Meh. Nutrition and lifting isn’t something that people can be that far ahead at this point.

My thing with Duval, and the Husker Power program, and especially in the big 10, is it is huge for lineman. The same thing can’t he said of Riley and Pelini S&C. Talent and execution is another thing entirely, but our lines are atleast big and strong enough now. I only disagree with “don’t see him being Better than other guys out there” because not every strength coach goes by the same principles and rules, and that’s what makes me nervous if Frost were to ever not be here cause I don’t think Duval stays and I don’t think Ellis stays
Dobson was a good strength coach.

Some guys are just better suited for that league. I'm going to call it a different league because as much as people don't want to admit it, it's a different league.

I agree but also TCU is looking at a future “conference” without OU and Texas.

I know KSU is worried about the future because there is nobody the Big 12 can add that will equal the revenue and prestige they lose with OU/UT leaving.

I was told KSU expects to make half what they currently make from Conference TV revenue share. Half of what already is far below Big 10/SEC money. Yikes.

Long story short: maybe TCU is fine with somebody like Dykes cuz they see the future of the Big 12 being a borderline Group of 5 league anyway.

Not to mention there will now be a clear 4 tier recruiting level in the state of Texas.

Tier 1: the SEC - the 3 biggest recruiting schools of Texas (UT, OU, A&M) are all now in the SEC. SEC west teams can also now sell kids on 1 or more games a year in the state of Texas.

Tier 2: remaining Big 12 schools in Texas

Tier 3: all other power 5 schools

Tier 4: group of 5 and below

It would surprise me if a program was basically conceding defeat and hiring because they expect to be a g5 school. I don't think conference realignment is over at this point. Teams are simply weighing out their options at this point.

I just meant a combo of being more reluctant to spend big money and also thinking a guy like Dykes could work in the Big 12 now since all of the big boys are gone.

I suppose that could be. I just think ADs sometimes put too much trust in a coach's success at the g5 level. Or maybe TCU is just willing to hire again in 3 years if it doesn't work out.

From my interactions with Dave, he's got enough going on all over the world dealing with nutrition and dietary shit he'd leave pretty quickly if Frost is fired I think
