The only thing that would redeem this is if Deion and Sean Lewis had already spoke and Deion knew 100% that Lewis was not returning in 2024. Hypothetically if that was established already then this would be understandable.

But obviously OC Lewis was the least of the problems, so it's dumb either way.

I mean, I suppose this COULD be true, but

1) to my knowledge there isn’t a MWC team with a vacancy at HC at this time
2) even if he has decided to leave, there still isn’t anything precluding him from calling plays for the last 4 games of the year.

Smells like a made up excuse to me.
