The only thing that would redeem this is if Deion and Sean Lewis had already spoke and Deion knew 100% that Lewis was not returning in 2024. Hypothetically if that was established already then this would be understandable.

I actually don’t think Lewis has been that good from what I’ve seen. Against TCU, maybe. But other than that he has a good opening script that works for the 1st quarter. After that it all falls apart because there’s zero adjustments being made. That’s not to say that I think Shurmur is a better option.

I think we've all learned over the past few years that there's no adjustment for having no offensive line.

They also ran the shit out of the ball. So it's not like Lewis just wants to air it out all day. There's a reason he's calling the plays that he's calling.
