I have a hard time reading so many of you who are willing to put up with any and all off the field scandals in order to have a coach that would win more games. You'd be willing to sell your souls for wins over Illinois and Cockeye? I hope most of it is hyperbole. You know the stuff and cocaine and hookers being ok, just win baby. I want to win AND I want to do it with our ethics, morals and image intact. Lots of you want to pay top dollar for the next coach but if you are paying top dollar then you should expect wins along with the saintly image.

Scenarios:
Worst case: Bad coach/Bad person = Frost
Bad case: Bad coach/ Good person = Riley
Ok case: Good coach/ Bad Person = Urban
Best case: Good coach/ Good person = T.O

And since we have the ability to pay top dollar then that means we should pay for a top notch person. Paying top dollar for a guy that will create scandals is not a proper use of use of the big money we seem to be willing to spend.

*by scandals I mean ones the coach creates. Not the ones his players create. No coach can control all of his players.

that was incredibly gay robert downey jr GIF

I just did a search for some of my past thoughts on this subject.

Less kids that look like a Class C1 QB and more kids worth hiding a gun in a drawer.

danke schoen

Give me prop 48 retards, give me thugs who need guns hidden in drawers, give me competitive asshole QBs with an edge.

Save the Diet Coke Tebow shit for KSU.
I want winners, at all costs.

Nebraska was never going to hire Urban Meyer. That and check back with me when the next major university does.

Some of you think I'm trolling. I'm not. I don't think we should spend top dollar on a rehab project. (We are the ones in need of the rehab) I still think character matters. I want to win and maintain high standards off the field.

I read so many of you saying basically that the ends justify the means. When did we all turn into the people where the leaders of our groups can do whatever they want as long as I get what I want? Not me. But I am a bit idealistic. There are good people out there to be our leaders and that is the place we should be searching first. Why not have a high standard?

For example: Turd can't get up there and preach accountability and then hire Urban Meyer. Urban is a guy who hasn't shown an ounce of loyalty to any place he has been and usually leaves with the safe lie of "health problems" after he has lit the place on fire with some sort of nonsense. Top dollar? No way. Urban should be asking us for the job at a discount if we are to be the vehicle for his image rehabilitation.

Would you guys be ok with being PSU of the 80'a and 90's along with Joe Pa turning a blind eye to abuse? We make fun of those fools and they deserve our scorn.

Somebody brought up Lawrence Phillips. Tom Osborne did about as well as anyone could have done in that situation. He actually shielded society from LP for as long as he was able to. Was it perfect? No. And again Tom didn't create LPs problems.

But anyway, I just like to rant and workshop opinions.

You're really going to compare Urban Meyer's baggage to Joe Paterno's and expect people to take this discussion seriously?

Genius coach, seems to be a sleaze who is capable of leaving places in shambles. People are brushing off his Jags stint like it was a one-off but he was the same way at Florida too, he just won there. I don't think this is as bad as Joe Pa obviously haha, but I actually agree with OP that I want a coach who is actually fun to root for and seems like a good leader to his players.

If you aren’t trolling, read this article. Might give you a different perspective on Saint Dr. Tom.

Soooo...to summarize, Urban:

-Protected Superstars from consequences and some stars got to dictate offseason conditioning work

-Relentlessly recruited committed players to flip them

-Had previous players call recruits, and coaches bump into recruits during dead periods

-Used rules to his advantage by having an injured player take a medical hardship scholarship so he could still take him but get another recruit as well

I am sorry, but this article was an absolute joke in trying to prove he's a terrible person. Please show me one thing above that the great Dr. Tom didn't do as well. Good lord - Muschamp hasn't won anywhere he's been that IS a plausible reason why Florida went downhill.
