Testosterone

G, first off, sorry to hear about what you're dealing with, hope the T straightens it all out!

I'm actually super glad this thread came up, something I'm real interested in personally. I know I put on here a few times, a few years ago, that I got up to about 260 lbs at 6' for powerlifting purposes. Worked great for what I did it for. However, I had not gone to the doctor for a general physical for a good decade during that time, for my own stupid reason. No gear, just pure lifting, food, and zero cardio other than sex

At about the 3ish year mark of my "dirty bulk" that lasted about 5-6 years, the ol pal downstairs became very inconsistent you could say. Sometimes I felt 18, other times half chub and nothing more, sometimes 3/4, other times it would get up and down within seconds. At the time, I was pounding mass amounts of pre-workout and coffee every day. Developed IBS as well, I still deal with that one.

Went to the doc for a physical two years ago, he basically told me my shit diet was clogging my blood vessels up, making my heart work way too damn hard for very basic function, the amounts of caffeine was having me always on edge so my body could never relax, and my body was pumping enough blood for simple function, instead of good blood flow for sex consistently. Was also on Creatine at the time. Doc told me to majorly clean up my diet, get all the supplements out of me, and to take some good time and clean my system out, and do some damn cardio and I'd be fine down the road. He offered getting my Test checked and I declined, but I've always been interested to check.

My physical the following year, I dropped the weight and got to about 205 I think at the time. Everything looked. I did a slight heart thing that I had to go a stress test for that ended up being a false alarm, but I talked to the specialized nurse there about my ED issue and she explained that my body, at the time, was basically doing just enough blood flow wise to handle what I was doing in the gym, but couldn't pick it up enough in the bedroom to supply that consistently. Add in the simple not being able to relax enough when it was go time, and that's the results that happen.

I'll go back for another physical in a few months, my wife wants me to go see a different doc this time due to the stress test that was never needed, but everything I've experienced is gone. I sit about 200 lbs now, in relatively good shape for a washed up athlete that still tries to powerlift. Cardio most days. Has worked as advertised.

I would absolutely be open to the idea of TRT in the future if the situation calls for it. Not something I would just start though unless doc prescribed.

Note: I went about a year lifting without pre-workout. TOUGH. Hopped back on it with normal coffee at work about a month ago.....it was definitely the diet and lack of cardio that gave me the majority of my issues. Still trying to figure out the IBS but I'm a decade into that now.

Have a buddy at work who did that, he's in his mid 20s now, and he said coming off of SARMS was horrible
Haven’t taken them in a few years but my levels bounced back eventually. Probably due to being young at the time. Would probably shut me down permanently at this point

Aren't they basically one level short of legitimate steroids?

Yup. They work pretty well and the sides are way more mellow. It just shuts down your natural T after a while.

Once your start pushing rope you know it’s time to hop off the cycle.

Blasted SARMs with reckless abandon in college so I will probably need it eventually

SARMS generally don't effect hormones and if they do bounce back is fairly short and non-permanent.

Prohormones are essentially steroids, they usually have one or two molecules different than the active steroid which made it orally bioavailable, meaning pill form. Also made them legal for a period of time in the US.

SARMs are not related to steroids (AAS), they're in a different class. SARMS target the specific anabolic receptors for muscle growth or bone growth. They can have similar effects (but lesser) as AAS, but don't effect the liver, prostate, hormones, or other negatives sides that AAS have. They were developed originally for treatment of osteoporosis and other muscle wasting diseases.

I skipped out on shots. I've heard good things though.
Taking T-hero (Advances Male Support with Ashwagandha and Shilajit).
Omega 3 of course.
Creatine in mornings to help Loosen the joints. Haha
Mornings I use my juicer to pack a punch with fresh fruits.
Eggs, red meat, garlic, and raw onions give out super testosterone.
All have helped with energy and strength. Confidence has comeback like a youngbuck being born again.
Needed to read this is have lost over 120lbs since March and need to start bulking

I've been on TRT for 6 years now, started at 38. It used to be taboo, but is widely acceptable now among men 40+. I had issues sleeping, mood swings, lack of sexual desire (we were still planning another kid or two), and just overall always in the dumps emotionally. TRT helped significantly within the first month.

First advice, DON'T go to a primary care physician for this. Go to a specialized male clinic which only deals with TRT. They are all over the place now, read reviews. Most are similar in their approach.

What a specialized male clinic will do in monitor your bloodwork monthly until you dial in your dose and ensure all panels are good. Once you get dialed in, they'll go to either blood work every 2 or 3 months. This is extremely important to monitor, TRT has a tendency to thicken up the blood, which is what leads to heart issues if not monitored and taken care of.

It's something I highly recommend for guys in late 30s and 40s to check in on.

Agree with this, especially if your red blood cell counts get too high might require you to donate blood and let your body reset.

I’m on it almost a year. I inject daily. It takes a bit to balance the hormones/test ratio. Game changer though! I’m 58 and feel amazing. I also use alot of different shrooms and cbd supplements. I refinish about 50 gym floors every summer by myself, and feel great! Broke my collarbone in an atv accident in April, and refinished my first floor on Memorial day. Lots of great stuff out there if you know what to look for. Of coarse doctors will tell you to stay away, they want us sick and weak!
No doctor with a brain would have you inject daily. If you actually inject daily, you are not real smart either.

Thanks man, good to know that it’s helped you out.

I did go to a specialized clinic. Going back in a couple weeks for blood tests to see how the dosage is working

Mind sharing what your levels were originally and what they prescribed, what doses and what pills?

What’s the monthly cost?

How do you take this? Get the flavored stuff? Or mix the unflavord with something?

Do you do any sort of pre-workout? If so, check it's ingredients, a lot of companies are throwing 2-5g of creatine in with their preworkout.

If not, unflavored and mix with any of your other supplements or juice. Gummies are becoming popular, but they're expensive compared to bulk powder.
