This is what we've heard so far today from Saturday's scrimmage. Long story short, QB Dylan Raiola looked "surgical," as one onlooker told HuskerOnline on Saturday. He played at a very high level.

There was a fourth-and-five play where he looked like Patrick Mahomes. He was scrambling, then threw a last-second underhand pitch to WR Isaiah Neyor for a touchdown.

On another broken play, he scrambled to the right and threw a perfect deep ball to WR Jaylen Lloyd for an 80-yard TD.

Those were probably the two biggest highlights, but the biggest thing was the offense moved the ball consistently and Raiola hit his short throws. On third-and-short situations, guys were making catches along the sideline and moving the chains, which is what you want to see. As Rhule said today, the offense looked as good as it has since he's been at NU.

They've really worked hard on short and medium throws with quick releases by the quarterback.

Not so much here outside of bashing Fat Sam for saying it’s the worst Nebraska he’s seen.

But the Jeff sims hype was real last off season, people were creaming themselves over a practice video of him basically throwing 7v7 drills.
But no real reports on how he actually did.
Refreshing there are actual reports on how Raiola is doing

I don’t think there was much hype at all going into last season. From reading message boards to talking to people in public most were going into the season with a wait and see attitude after being burned with fluff for years.

In recent history, you don't usually end up at Nebraska because you're good at football.

Yep. But if we ever get a transfer from an elite school like UGA or Bama I'll bet they'd probably win multiple Heismans here. Everyone enrolled at those schools is an elite football player who was not mis-scouted

I'm a Chief guy but I also remember Rhule talking him up last off season too and as soon as the season started he faded away. Hopefully being his second year in the program this season will be different.
