#2ndChoice isn't going to make it to November. you can tell the Wisconsin AD knew this season was going to be a disaster no matter what, so they decided to wait until the buyout was lower and not make the next coach start with a schedule like this
His buyout isn’t any lower. He just got a “standard” 1-year contract extension this year to keep him thru 2032, and his buyout stays at more than $40 million.

I’m still amazed that fans make the mistake of judging the difficulty/ease of a schedule before the season, let alone in May.

In today's college football with the portals in and out, It's all a crap shoot.

Used to be you could look at a schools roster the week of their bowl game and have a really good idea what they'd look like the following year. Not anymore. Hell, Spring versus Fall rosters won't look the same.

All that said, Wisconsin doesn't have an easy row to hoe this fall. Due to the portal there are some absolute wildcards on there, but the bulk of that schedule will likely beat them.

I really enjoy watching them make the same mistakes we did post TO.

I'd often heard Alvarez saying he used NU as the model to build Wisconsin. Apparently they're serious about continuing that trend. I'm just hoping this is their Callahan or Riley years and that they don't follow it up with a Pellini type hire. Stick to sub .500 football if you're really serious about it.

I always find it difficult to determine how good some of the Big teams will be. Especially Rutgers, Maryland and Michigan State

With Fitz gone, Northwestern is now firmly on that list. Indiana used to be, will be again. Hell, right now we are until we prove otherwise. UCLA, not sure if Illinois is staying a bowl team or not.

Every year we look at Cockeye's losses and think 'Here it is. They're in the toilet this year' and somehow (development na d coaching) they win 9+.
