Spring Football Thread

He did. HS QB who tried TE here. Was at NU at least two years. Never heard a thing from him. And then he transferes and is an NAIA all-American. NAIA Div. II, no less. Yeah, he looks pretty good in those pro-day clips, but who knows if an NAIA Div. II all-American would translate into be a contributor in the Big Ten. The fact he didn't even crack a special team while at NU kinda makes me doubt it.

But, maybe he was a late bloomer and all the more power to him if he can make it as a pro somewhere.

Just wanted to clarify something.... NAIA Division II hasn't existed in NAIA Football since 1998. NAIA DII Basketball was eliminated prior to the 2020-21 Academic year. He was certainly an All-American at the highest level of NAIA Football.

I wouldn't call him a "late bloomer." Most Big Ten scout teamers could go play minimum at an All-Conference and even All-American level in the NAIA.

Concerning your last sentence, I would say “some “ scout teamers but definitely not “most”.

There were guys that transferred out of Nebraska all the time back in the "glory days" around 2000 that went to an NAIA school and didn't make all-conference. In fact some were "just" rotational players. There were also dudes that didn't even play for an NAIA school that transferred to Nebraska and ended up being pretty big contributors.

Thank you for posting this. The irony in the original post was lost on me.
Yeah. I had seen some tweets with the banana and the blue bottle of water so I figured this had to be some meme or online trend, but didn’t know what it was based one.

I do like that Haarberg moves at the same pace I do in the morning. Took him 75 minutes to put his football uniform on.
