Yant averaged 6.2ypc over 7 games? Yet he is benched in 5 of them? God I hate our coaching staff so much.

I get the sense that there is a lot to that story that the public doesn't know... Damon has hunted at multiple times that he has off field problems..Yant averaged 6.2ypc over 7 games? Yet he is benched in 5 of them? God I hate our coaching staff so much.

Guys…..I found some SOURCED INFO on Twitter

Ron Brown confirmed that Yant was being disciplined at one point:
"You know, those who love you will discipline you when they need to. And I love Jaq. And we all do. And we did what we needed to do in terms of the protocol of this university and also our football team. He didn't do anything like really drastically bad. But we have some team rules in certain things, so we needed to deal with that. We needed to pay rent on that. That debt has been forgiven and we move on."
Between stuff like that and him showing up 30 lbs overweight to fall camp, I don't think anyone should count on Yant being a real reliable guy, no matter how much they like him as a runner. This ain't just Frost showing favoritism toward Rahmir or whatever.
BRB ...Brody Belt's only claim to fame is the fact that he is a small town white guy who practices hard and that gives Scott Frost a boner almost as much as a Gate 25 waitress spread eagle on top of a Golden Tee machine.

Are we even at the point where we have one guy that we can rely on?
Rahmir was nice but didn't do anything special.
Gabe got injured and never even did anything considered semi special before that.
Yant is a basket case.
Marv and Sev portalized but never did anything noteworthy anyway.
E. Johnson is a freshman and might have been a reach in the first place.
Stepp? I almost did as much as Stepp did last year and I didn't play.

So, if we can pick up someone proven from the portal or a freshman phenom then we should. And considering that in the Big 10 it's a good idea to have probably 3 guys that you can count on our current list of ....(checks notes).....zero makes the portal even more important.
There's what, three or four 4* guys on that list? And none of them have amounted to much? I mean this should have been like when we had 4* guys Ameer, Aaron Green, and Braylon Heard battling it out for the starting job. But of course, it's been more like a battle for 'good enough'. That screams coaching issue, so hopefully the staff changes we've made will change the picture.
It takes a fucking dude or a weak B1G schedule and some luck to go coast to coast on your schedule.... I always figure we need to be 3/4 deep at RB.Are we even at the point where we have one guy that we can rely on?

ESPN is horrible, unless they rate our guys higher. Then they are OK
Probably having culture problems
I choo-choo-choose you
