I have no clue... I think there is more to it than a win total though. I think that would be part of it, but I think there is other aspects. And the metrics are…….
I would assume bowl game
No you need to keep you HC at 4+ on his contract. That is pretty common practice. The renegotiation seems less impressive now. It was pretty telling they kept talking about the reduction “next year.” No need for an extension at all
My guess is his buyout would maintain at 7.5So say the metric is a bowl game. Then he earns another year. Is the buyout really 7.5 next year or is it 7.5 + the extra year.
Unless of course our expectations have dropped to a level where we'd retain a 3 win coachBowl game at the bare minimum, I'd assume. If they are adding a year onto the contract, it's going to have to be more than 6 wins.

Ignoring the smoke and mirrors aspect, plus just delaying the inevitable another year for no reason other than fan serviceWhy? If next year goes well, we are all happy.. if not, we fire him for less than half of what it would have cost this year
How about .250?I think a .500 season or less is fireable.
Suppose it's .250 but they try really hard, extra million and rollover?.250<.500
Math checks out
Might be worth a Big Buck Hunter… definitely not a second Golden Tee.Suppose it's .250 but they try really hard, extra million and rollover?
