A good indication that people should try as hard as they can to understand what he's saying or investigate further on their own. Some of the technical minutiae really can't be dumbed down, but that's on the scientists to find a way. Very few great researchers are also good teachers. Scientists write for scientists, not lay people. This leads to greater efficiency in discovery, but complete failures when science meets society in abrupt ways, such as pandemics.

Sorry, occupation has little to do with it. I was projecting my displeasure with a kid I went to school with, that shares your profession, onto you. At the same time, damcde knows more about these things than either of us do, so it is weird that you enjoy arguing with him.

To put it in context, that high school classmate also left facebook to join parler and rumble.com in November.

Arguably, distinction without a difference. Goal is the same, just different means of achieving it. Unfortunately, works way too well on too many.
