Site Speed

A few members reached out to @HuskerGarrett about site speed on their end.

After some troubleshooting and logging yesterday, I believe I got all issues resolved this morning.

As of 8am CST, let me know if you have seen improvements or are still having issues.


On average I was seeing 2 second loads on the default page and forum lists. Logged in as a couple different users I did see a 10 second and 16 second load.

Now I'm seeing 0.9 to 0.12 on those same pages for all users.

For reference, no matter if I was on mobile (chrome on mobile), or my pretty well spec'd PC, the site has always been very slow for me. I started counting out how long it would take to load a page or post, and it averaged about 10 seconds. My PC was usually a bit faster, but not by a lot (I have high end mobile devices with lots o ram and top end specs usually).

Often I wouldn't even try to hit the like button on someone's post, as it would spin and spin for 30+ seconds then give a prompt that it couldn't complete the task. Changing between say the main forum to another (like the insiders forum, etc) would take 10 to 30 seconds at times. And if threads had a lot of twitter links, no joke it would sometimes take minutes for a page to load.
