Nebraska HS football is a total joke right now.

What do you mean? The talent gap with kids moving to different schools?

The average final score in Class A is 43-10.
“The good have gotten better and the bad have gotten worse,” Johnson said.

I don't know if it's been posted here yet, but the Flatwater Free Press did a story on the topic this week:

I find it a little weird NU can’t come up with $15-$20mm per year in NIL on top of rev share. Maybe it would take more to crack the top 10? At any rate that needs to be fixed.

Small population and no oil money and the average NEbraskan is not a major attention seeker. Plus, it takes a “special” kind of person to want to be an 18 year old’s patron.

Do we know what the Hudl guys are worth (they were UNL grads, right) and if they play in the NIL world for us?

Hudl is worth north of a $1bn if I had to guess. But there are a fair amount of people on the cap table. The founders might have gotten some liquidity when Bain invested back in 2020, but not sure how much.

Good question. I was just walking past their beautiful Haymarket headquarters building Saturday thinking about how pretty much every football team in the country from high school to NFL subscribes to their system (not to mention a plethora of other sports) and how much they must be raking it in.

They did work with us on that syposium this summer for the top national recruits that brought a lot of guys to Lincoln who are now taking return visits. Many of those guys never step foot in Lincoln if not for that Hudl event.

But I have no idea what they're worth or if they are NIL donors. Heck, I don't even know their names. But yeah, Hudl started out as a project for a class at UNL. They showed it to Bill Callahan who spread the word to his NFL contacts and it took off from there.

I don’t think Rhule was talking to the media when he said rosters are/will soon be $40M.

I mean there isnt much going on in the state. Would think that would be easy to scrape together with no facilities or other needs. Guess we’re just boned.
