That’s the sad thing. We have put numerous guys in the NFL on the line, but never developed a badass line since the Solich years. Guys like Qvale, Slauson, Sterup, and Sirles come to mind
That seems like the biggest indictment of past regimes is that they have a bunch of guys who stick around for a while in the league for years which suggest we did fuck all with their talent

the more elite tackles we can recruit, the better. it was a huge issue for many many years, Greg Austin appears to be fucking awesome

Only thing I would add would be can Vokolek or any TE help stretch the field and in doing so create other passing opportunities. If Omar doesn’t play, and Hickman and Beck seem to fragile you play B1G football, can the TEs take some pressure of AM, Mills and Wandale?

Of course they have to call plays that utilize the TE, and we’ve also heard that for years. Assuming Lubick delivers on that and then the players run good routes, make catches, we may be able to open up the offense a little.
Thats a lot of questions in two paragraphs on essentially the same topic. Sad part they're all good questions and each one can derail the rest.

This is the first year since the Bo Pelini era where I thought the OL passed the eye ball test. Holy hell, Farniok is 8" taller, at least 130 lbs on me and glorious long hair. Compare that to Nick Gates a few years ago where he was 6ish" taller than me, maybe 80 lbs heavier, and I had bigger arms and thighs. I would have challenged Gates in a 1-on-1. No OL on this years team would I make that same challenge.
Thats promising at least.

Our OL/TEs and RBs make me very hopeful for this offense.

If our WRs play out how I think then I would be happy there as well.

Yep. We had a lot of guards playing tackle for sure. That is the one area Frost has given us some hope. It looks like we are recruiting the right body types now.

Frankly, that's the only area on offense that ever concerns me. If you can keep your QB on his feet, even with average skill guys around him, it can make a world of a difference to your success.
