Manning is the coach that infamously flipped Jamire Calvin to Wazzu.
Calvin was a Nebraska lean for sometime and was supposed to announce for us at the Army AA game. That was the year the AA game was a disaster for Nebraska where we lost out on everyone. Calvin was supposed to be a sure thing and surprisingly plucked an Oregon State hat to commit to the Beavers.
Week or so later he decommits and is back in the fold with Nebraska committing over Twitter. Manning kept working on him and he decommitted and chose Washington St and few days before NSD. It was quite the dramatic recruitment.
