What did you think of his comment about “most Oc’s like to only think about the QB when calling plays but end up putting their offensive line in really hard positions”
He's 100% right...and I don't know if that was a shot at Whipple, or just a general comment, you could probably take it as either. I doubt it's a shot. But it's true. If your OL coach is also your OC, yeah, that's a lot of responsibility and things to think about, but you also understand exactly what you can and can't do in the run game and protection scheme.

I also loved his comments about being around the OL and if the OL is good and leaders your team has a different vibe....that's also 100% true. OL are different. It's a position unlike anything in sports. If you've never played it, you probably won't understand.

Steven Muther Fuckin' Sipple....dude got the 3rd question at the first presser of the new coach and what does he ask

"How do you work to instill that idea that 4th and 5th graders dream of playing at Nebraska? what can you do, ya know, on a practical level to instill that?"

Are you a FUCKING MORON!!! obs the answer is yes...but holy fuck balls

What was Rhules immediate answer...one word "WIN"...then he was nice enough to expand but again it shows that Dean-O and the boys at Fuckers Online have no idea how to handle a presser. He's been in the job of asking questions for a long time and that was the best he could come up with??

In fairness to Simple (I know), there are very few people in the Nebraska media pool that know how to ask a question. Lots of "talk about..." and lots of questions that get asked in slightly different ways just so that particular outlet has audio of their guy asking the question. Very few are seeking any real insight because none of the reporters are that insightful. He's really just par for the course.

nah...there is no fairness, our media are a bunch of tools. I get that might be what you're saying BUT they deserve no slack. It's disgusting that they can't formulate a question based on fact that deserves expansion enough for the person at the podium to feel compelled to provide an answer. I totally understand the "talk about" statements which drive me insane!!

As for today's presser, the Omaha/Lincoln media didn't disappoint when it comes to the lack of preparation. Coach Rhule must stand there and think, what the fuck?? the NFL was harder than this...

Sam McKewon is another dolt that needs to go away

Rhule is a true professional. Dude understands relationships and how keeping them in tact helps him long term. I liked hearing him talk about Raiola and why he kept him. I would imagine Rhule will have a lot of individual influence on the Oline and that he will help develop them and Raiola.

Oh I 100% agree with you, I'm just saying he isn't the only one that sucks, and there aren't many I can think of that actually do a good job of reporting at those press conferences. It's mostly just Sparkle Deab, Panda Fucker, and Simple talking to hear themselves talk

I have notably HATED McKewon...

I think he did a great job today through the presser. His question on how he intends to recruit 4 year QBs was different and thoughtful.

Maybe Scott not making fun of him every presser is giving Sammy K some freedom and pizzazz

Less press buffet food prior to the presser probably helped too.

This was a good quote -

Matt Rhule doesn’t have one singular stance on dealing with players who leave Nebraska for the transfer portal and change their minds. He’s open to bringing some back.

But not all.
“To me it’s like anything in life,” Rhule said. “Anytime any of us say, ‘You know what, I’m done with something,’ you walk away from something — you walk away from buying a house, you walk away from taking a job — you kind of leave it in other people’s fate.”

By rule, schools don’t have to accept players back into the fold once they’ve left. Nebraska welcomed back edge rusher Jimari Butler earlier this month after he spent a couple days in the portal. Other departed Huskers have found new homes like linebacker Ernest Hausman (Michigan), offensive lineman Brant Banks (Rice), safety Jaeden Gould (Syracuse) and running back Jaquez Yant (Florida A&M).

Still others like wideouts Kamonte Grimes and Decoldest Crawford are still looking for homes. Rhule said he would talk to anyone about returning but that the conclusion might differ on a case-by-case basis.

Said Rhule: “Some guys, if they went in and they called me and they said, ‘Hey, I want to come back,’ I’d say I think it’s best if you do move on.”

There's a reason he's been successful. It's not because he's a smooth talker, which he is. He's genuine, and believes in his process. That and has high standards. Recipe for success. I hope he kills it here, I think he's going to be a good one here.
Man, HE LOVES IT too...you can just tell.

You hear at the end of his presser today - Naming all the Nebraska kids we got and he ends it with "Sam SLEEEEDGE ....I love it"

It's a small thing. But man - he loves this. And that's so different. Riley was nice but old and never won significantly anywhere. Frost acted like we owed him his whole time here.

Rhule knows what he's doing and is truly in love with this.

When he talked about how different college football is from when he left, and that people are ruining it by tampering etc...that was genuine. When goes on about his staff being guys that text each other at 3 AM because they found a kid they want to offer, and he trusts them cuz they are great at this...he loves it.

We are so lucky to have him. I hope he experiences the success that his attitude and demeanor deserve.

Listening to todays presser was probably an insight of what Turd was thinking when hiring Rhule.

“Is it something Scott would say? No. *Checks the box*. Another opposite answer of Scott. *Checks the box.* Appears to be the opposite of Frost, Rhule you’re hired.”

-Turd probably

I'm aware you have doubts. And I agree we need to see this whole staff in action before we have a final verdict, but for some reason I just feel a calm about the future of the program I haven't felt since TO retired. I wanted Frost like 99% of Husker fans, but when he brought the whole gang from UCF I had uneasy feelings about it. So far so good IMHO with the coaching hires. I just trust Rhule. I have no illusions about winning 9/10 games next year, but I'm willing to wager coin that we see improvement.
I honestly think Rhule will do a good job and I believe he is genuine and wants to be here, but I’ve got to see it before I’m going to pump out my chest. Hell I think we will go bowling next year. I don’t expect a shitty first year like Rhule has had at his previous stops because Mickey and Busch would have got us to a bowl this year if they started the season as the head coach and DC.
