It's a matter of preference between 2 great hires, but I've developed a man crush on Rhule too.

Yeah, I kind of like how Rhule wears smoks, pants that are too long, and appears to crush cheeseburgers every so often.

Honestly though, he's a great fit for Nebraska's culture. If the picture of he and his family doesn't scream Nebraska, I don't know what does.

No. try again.
suck my dick GIF

Rhule's P5 experience gives him the edge for me. Plus, he has a better track record of rebuilding.

That being said, if it's #2ndChoice, I will have zero problem with it and be ecstatic. #2ndChoice as a higher ceiling - and Rhule has a pretty damn high ceiling himself.

Fickells buyout would be 13.5 mil. Assuming we'd be paying him the same as Rhule do people that like #2ndChoice like him 13.5 mil more? Don't care because we have plenty of money?

I would go with Rhule in that scenario and put the boosters' extra $13.5m toward assistant pool, NIL, etc

Both solid hires. But I give the edge to Rhule having successfully coached P5 teams. Luke was IHC at OSU then took over a G5 Cincinnati team, soon to become P5 team in the Big 12 next year.

This is a great question imo.

I really like Rhule after reading up on him but #2ndChoice would be a great hire as well. I honestly lean #2ndChoice but I also don't know much about him outside the fact that Cincinnati seems to be consistently competitive and the only G5 team to reach the CFP. That said, he has no real P5 experience and I have no idea what his recruiting acumen is like.

I voted Rhule. He's a program builder with P5 experience. I like that fact that he has bounced around a lot and coached in all three phases of the game. And I like the fact that he went to the NFL and he failed. He seems like a smart guy who probably learned a few lessons during his stops.

Of all of the potential HC comparisons, this one is the toughest. I'd give #2ndChoice a slight edge based on what he's done in CFB over the last few years. I'd be very happy with either.
