Rhule articles/speeches

I figured I would start a thread on this as I find articles and speaking events

Here is his speech at the AFCA

"I get the opportunity to go be an NFL head coach, and I'm excited about that. BUT...I LOOOOOVE being a College Football Coach."

Let's. Fucking. Go.

I am so excited for this man to lead our program. I hope we are worth staying at when he kills it here and turns us around. He fits us so well, and I truly don't think people understand how good of a marriage this can be.

Holy hell. I may have my @ work listening for the next (insert long time amount here)

"You won't hear me say I didn't raise my kids. I don't have a coaches wife. I have a wife. Family, football. I don't play golf. Family, football. I don't have hobbies. Family, football."

What was one of THEE MAIN things Turd talked about at his fire Frost/hire new presser? "I want someone that eats and breathes and lives football. I like guys that don't have hobbies."

It was always Rhule.

Dude is a good speaker. That ain’t easy

"40 sacks = 10 wins to me."

Nebraska football this year has 18 sacks - 3 wins. checks out. Not exact rate - but damn close. Wiscy and GaSo both games that "should've" (i know...no one cares about should've) been won, makes up the difference.

Amen, Tone. To go for an hour that like AFCA link - you REALLY gotta know what you're discussing. You can't fake being the focal point for an hour detailing how you run a team and staying engaging that entire time.

I public speak as my volunteer gig. And boy - you can tell when I REALLY know what I'm talking about vs. when I'm just filling time for a buddy. They are very different. they sound different, they feel different. The passion, the depth, the value, all impacted.

Here is one part of it....

Just checking some stats on those. In 2019, Baylor was...
  • #11 in the country in turnover margin, but #77 in penalty yards per game.
  • #99 in average punt yards, and #49 in punt returns
  • #44 in field goal percentage
  • #83 in kickoff returns
  • #7 in sacks, and #11 in TFL
  • #13 in plays of 20+ yards, and #6 in plays of 20+ yards given up
