Yes we’ve heard Chiles, Colandria and Lagway mentioned as replacement options along with potentially Pribula

I wonder if we’d take a look at WCU QB transfer Taron Dickens though as another option

Runner up for FCS’ Walter Payton Award last year. 3500 yards, 38 TDs, 2 INT as a Sophomore. Has 2 years left. Went viral for completing 46/46 passes in a game last year against Wofford. Played high school ball at Miami Northwestern. Barthel following as are Sam McKewon, Evan Bland and Mitch Sherman.

At this point I would rather roll with a Lagway or Pribula and bring in a lower level guy as an insurance blanket.

Now we’re in a position where we need to PAY to get a guy in here who can start.

I know Lagway had a poor season, but so did that whole team. He has shown things in games that pop. He has talent, can he be coached out of the INTs?

one guy I was looking into as a possible second behind Minchey was Mercer’s kid, Braden Atkinson

Jerry Rice award winner, threw the hell out of the ball. I think he’s visited Notre Dame and is looking at Baylor also, and then some ACC schools as well. 3 years of eligibility

66% for 3600, 34/11

Stats don’t show he’s too mobile, but again I was looking at him as a 2nd option you take a chance on. Much higher risk for our current situation

Bonus: has a western Nebraska last name

He can be coached out of INTs im sure. Does Nebraska have the staff to do it? Not even close

I'd rather go with a guy like Dickens than p5 failure QBs we are supposedly chasing
I would not in an either/or situation. I would rather do both. If the Atkinson kid is looking at ND he's definitely not only looking for a place he can start. He's looking for a place to compete for a job. I would take a kid like that and overpay for a P4, Elite 11, top 5 QB recruit in his class who has shown a lot of flashes of that talent.

While I have no evidence to disagree with your statement, we have to at least try. The one thing Dylan and TJ didn't do is throw INTs. I know QBs in Rhule's first year did, but that hasn't been an issue the past two seasons. Maybe we can coach QBs into not throwing INTs...? Since Glenn Thomas got to NU they haven't had an INT problem.

Would rather have him than Sims 2.0 (Chiles) or Sims 3.0 (Lagway) at this point. It’s all over anyway, might as well have some fun.

I think it helps when you don’t attempt to push the ball down field even a little bit

We have a seemingly competent QB in Lateef. If we didn’t the sense of urgency would be 10x what it is now.

What if he is not a competent QB? What if he gets injured?

Then what? Who else do we have?

Do we any other option behind him to save the season?
