I remember when Frost and Co. we’re going to be juggernauts on the recruiting trail. Now it’s more like Pelini with a lot of low rated diamonds in the rough topped off with a few four stars that either have issues or are not recruited by their home state teams.

Schaefer has mentioned that we will probably take 18-20 guys this year. I'm assuming we will save at least 2 spots for transfers. Assuming we take 18 guys, and based on our current board, our 2022 recruiting class will probably end up looking something like this:

QB (1) - Richard Torres (3* 0.8693)
RB (1) - Justin Williams (3* 0.8749)
WR (2) - VICTOR JONES (3* 0.8552); Landon Samson (3* 0.8466)
TE (1) - CHASE ANDROFF (3* 0.8527)
OL (3) - Jake Maikkula (3* 0.8527); Ashton Craig (3* 0.8627); Valen Erickson (3* 0.8477)

DL (3) - Jamari Lyons (4* 0.8928); Jalen Marshall (3* (0.8627); Hayden Schwartz (3* 0.8728)
LB (4) - Jake Appleget (no rating); ERNEST HAUSMANN (3* 0.8702); Tyler Martin (4* 0.8970); Lamar Washington (3* 0.8863)
CB (2) - Benjamin Morrison (4* 0.9002); James Monds (3* 0.8527)
S (1) - Markeith Williams (4* 0.9108)

ATH - Ja'Corey Thomas (3* 0.8810); Carson Hegerle (3* 0.8627)

That calculates to a 197.01 score on 247. Samson's rating will rise though, and so will Appleget's, and I'm assuming some other guys are going to get higher ratings. So our final class score would be above 200, maybe in the 205ish range, which would put us in the 35-30 range in the team rankings.
Thanks for putting this together. It’s been my contention for some time that this class will fall somewhere between 25-35 in the team rankings.

Man, you are an insufferable member of this board. All you do is talk shit on this staff and bash the program. Nobody is happy with the state of things - give it a rest.

In all reality, Frost and Co. have had top recruiting classes 3 years in a row - something Pelini never did. Is recruiting in a good spot right now? Not even close. But things are just getting back to normal and a lot can change between now and December/February. This

The beauty of a message board is everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you don’t like my posts, skip them.

Need to fucking win fucking football games so it looks like we're more than just a fucking charity

Alternatively, lets assume that we get the best players on our board, or there are some highly rated players out there that we don't know about who end up committing, and some of our guys get ratings bumps, and we end up with a class like this:

4* .91
4* .91
4* .90
4* .90
4* .89
4* .89

3* .88
3* .88
3* .88

3* .87
3* .87
3* .87
3* .87

3* .86
3* .86
3* .86
3* .86

3* .85

That will give us a 247 class score of 213is, maybe 215ish. That would give us a top 25ish recruiting class.
I almost wonder if they try and save a few spots too for some bigger fish that become available if we have a better season than expected

I hope they leave a decent amount of spots open well into the fall. If nothing else, we leave spots open and we take more transfers.

Also, I wonder if every team will take fewer recruits this year since next years super seniors will count against scholarships. So maybe some of the lower 4* and higher 3* who would otherwise be heading to places like Oregon or OSU or PSU or Florida etc might need a home.

He didn't say anything that wasn't true in that post...

If this guy isn't a big priority it's a damn travesty. The great white buffalo pass rusher is right down the road in KC. I don't know that he's a freak but that frame and skill set are hard to come by. Edge guys are just hard to come by period...let alone living within a 250 mile radius of the UNL campus.

"Wait for it"

Kid uses his hands well and appears to be adept at shedding blocks (and endearing quality in a weak side pass rushing DE). There's enough there in the highlight clip that's interesting enough to warrant someone looking at full game film. Hopefully, we've got a recruiting analyst doing just that.

Edit: NM. I see we have an offer out to him and Dawson is the lead guy. Go get him, corch!

Victor Jones and Landon Samson and Valen Erickson received slight rating increases

Tyler Martin's composite ranking went down - he's no longer a 4*
