Raiola transfer article

I'm thinking he goes to the U

Dylan and Barney in a few months:

I’ve considered this as well. They paid $5 million for Carson Becht and it worked out pretty well for them. I’m mostly just pairing the fact that they will need a new QB and they’ve already proven they’ll overpay for a QB. Wouldn’t shock me at all if that ends up being where he lands. We’ll see I guess…

I'm not going to read the OP article, I'm just going to say what someone who is highly connected to the program said;
Dom asked for $6 mil for Dylan after Donny was fired.. 3 mil of that would have come from NU which was twice what we were paying. Rhule said no, and Dylan had said to the staff that he didn't want to leave Nebraska. The other 3mil was to come from national firms that were getting him to sign deals.

I don't think the national firms came to fruition with what Dom was asking either.

Dom was still really angry and demanded that Dylan leave, and that is why we are where we are.

NU will actually do well with this from the perspective of cash in hand to get players it wants. Nebraska won't have to pay more than $1 mil for a QB for one year. Depending on who it is it might be half of that.

He's going to go somewhere for less than what we gave him in year 1 and year 2 here because he just wants to get to the NFL and they think he needs more talent around him to do that. He will do much better, get that team to 9/10 wins... and I'll have to hear about how we ruined him as a QB from our fans since he did better elsewhere.

Yes, that will definitely be the short sighted view.

I don't see any QB getting $5 million this off season, with the current rules, and really a lack of true difference makers changing teams I just don't see it. Louisville certainly isn't going to give Raiola $5 million.

I think the Raiola's overvalued the market and are going to be in a Nico situation this offseason.
Archie is going to stay around $6-8M (just more through NIL deals than profit sharing).

I'd bet 2-3 will be. I still don't believe there's going to be anything meaningful to stop pay for play (just be restructured as more classic endorsement deals)...and it's not like the SEC is about following rules anyway.

Every NIL deal has to go through a committee of the NCAA now for approval to be valid. This was one of the requirements of the deal through the 9th Circuit Court. If the university's fingerprints are heavy on the deal, they are setting themselves up for Title IX issues. People are already working on a civil suit regarding this, and if they find really obscene deals that is going to feed this like crazy.

Yes I know fully what that deal was.

Here's the thing:
1) Free market says their endorsement is worth whatever someone is willing to pay, there's NOTHING that will stop them because they have a right to in the free market
2) This won't stop the SEC nor slow them down (where Texas is)
3) A lot of Arch's endorsements were in place before the settlement happened
4) This still won't stop anything

It will only separate those who are willing to do what it takes from those who will use the clearinghouse as an excuse

I certainly hope this happens.

Probably… or he could end up signing with someone like Louisville, for like 1-2 million, go 7-6 and end up a late round draft pick (or free agent) and always wonder if his dad fucked up his entire college and pro career.

But probably whatever the worst possible scenario for Nebraska is what will happen.

Most of the top programs and others will keep pushing it until it is stopped. NU will follow the rules and fall behind. It’s a tradition of our AD and compliance office. We will continue to complain how we are top 10 for revenue but produce below average football results.

I'm laying money on him to win the heisman

NCAA will go back to the days where the rules apply to schools like us but not bama or tOSU. Any of the acceptable cheaters who gets caught, it’s becuz a journalist discovered it & the ncaa is forced to act.

It’s a complete joke & CFB as a whole is becoming one as well. The CFP was on this weekend & half of em were games that should be in August/september
