Raiola to OSU

His interview appearance during the game wearing the ‘Run The Damn Ball’ hat said it all.
So that and he said "that's what we do here, we run the damn ball". I know he said it out of fun, but it almost could have been a subtle shot at the offense we've been trying to run since he's been here.

Knowing Whipple is your OC it was even more obvious.

We're going to be throwing the ball a lot.

Callahan now saying we had no shot after the spring game apparently, don’t have an account anymore so can’t read the thread

When I posted here a couple weeks back that he committed to OSU, Sean messaged me and basically said “yeah I knew that too, but it’s not because of NIL money”

@Faux Sean Callahan @HuskerGarrett anyone know the legit story that Dean won't actually say yet?
I will ask for more details.

I was told that awhile back around the spring game that there was some problems with our message. I didn't think much of it because I felt we needed to win at a decent level to be in this discussion for him.

I also know Damon hinted at some problems here too. I need to go back and relisten to the podcast. If I remember correctly it was along the lines of not showing him enough love and Nebraska being in the spot to expect to get a recruit like him. I will find the podcast and post it later when I find it.

Whipple has been a historically pass heavy OC, but everybody I have talked to says they expect us to be close to 40% run 60% pass. Needless to say I am skeptical of that.

Last year Whipple was 60/40 in the first half of games and then was 40/60 in the second half of games. Effectively making him a 50/50 OC, but he is going to throw the ball until he has a lead and then will run the ball to kill the clock.

I remember that one. Kinda like the feeling of "act like you belong and should be in the race" for him. Sounds like we didn't and just "hoped".

I'm just saying we're not gonna be RTDB guy this season

Yeah, I also wonder that we were focused in on Mathis and other recruits where there was more likely an ROI there.

That is speculation ^^^

I'd rather run the ball than throw the ball personally, but I guess wouldn't that be a good selling point to Raiola in today's game? "We're going to pass the ball a significant amount so you can show off your arm for the NFL". Or shit maybe he's a QB who likes to run.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't I guess. Common sense speaking, if Frost knows it's a long shot to land Dylan, then he should put more effort into Mathis honestly to help the team right now. That's a tough wish from Dylan if that's real.

When your job is on the line in 2022, it doesn't make sense to worry about 2024

I'm just talking about Dom.

Still gotta worry about the future or your ass is gonna be on the line yet again
You got to walk and chew bubble gum at the same time, but I get it.

Still, win in the fall and you never know wtf can happen tomorrow.

I have always been told Frost and Dylan have a good relationship.

All I got was something along the lines of “they like what OSU is doing and feel they give him the best route to the nfl”
It sucks but it is hard not to like what OSU is doing. I hope we get there one day or at least close to it.

We will be at less risk to lose legacy blue chip recruits in the future if we have a respectable program.
