"Now when you say stunt, Mark, what exactly do you mean by that?"“This was a really fuckin bad idea.”
Based on what they do in a game. Nothing. Fuck they’re awful. Theyre worse than last year. And that’s saying something. What do we think uncle Donny does to prepare the Ol during the week? Just mutters in a corner while they try their best?
Urban Meyer & Jim Harbaugh had no coordinator experience. Special team coordinators(John Harbaugh) becoming great HCs always kinda told me the HC qualities go beyond just influencing X&Os & it’s more about influencing the ppl.Wouldn't it be the most ridiculous thing ever if Joseph turns out to be "THE guy" that brings respectability back to our football program? A guy with no coordinator experience and the shortest resume of any HC we've had since TO being the dude to make it happen would be the college football story of the decade.
Stuntz? Like…Mike?"Now when you say stunt, Mark, what exactly do you mean by that?"
It happens but its by far the exception.Urban Meyer & Jim Harbaugh had no coordinator experience. Special team coordinators(John Harbaugh) becoming great HCs always kinda told me the HC qualities go beyond just influencing X&Os & it’s more about influencing the ppl.
Mickey got a hell of an uphill battle down the stretch. Most every team we play is gonna be much better up front
Pittman was never a coordinator. Christobol was never a coordinator. The Clemson HC was never a coordinator.Urban Meyer & Jim Harbaugh had no coordinator experience. I really like their RB Brown. He's going to be a force.Could we purchase a player like Aaron Lewis?
A lot of times being a good head coach has as much to do about those around him.Being a good head coach doesn’t necessarily mean you are a genius with ax’s and Os, you can surround yourself with coordinators who do know. But you do need to have a good idea what you want your system to look like and the all important why. You need to know what direction you are taking the team and have a good idea how to get there. You do not do it alone. The head coach needs to be a good recruiter and a very good closer. You don’t have to necessarily be a rah rah guy, be true to yourself. More, but we are the restaurant.
How did he work out? We can list all the HC's that were never coordinators and it will be a very small percentage. My original point is that what we need as a HC is exactly what Mickey can bring. True leadership. It's clear that he tolerates no bullshit. Just look at how we no longer see our defensive players doing stupid celebrations after they make a tackle on a play that resulted in a first down. No more finger wagging by a db after the ONE time they defend a pass on a TD drive. No dumb dances by a DL...etc etc. Discipline and a belief they can win is exactly what has been missing.Frank Solich was never a coordinator.
He went on to become the best coach in Ohio history and the most underappreciated coach in Nebraska history. How did he work out? Lol ok sure thing. You got me there. He went on to become the best coach in Ohio history and the most underappreciated coach in Nebraska history.
What was your opinion on the OPI calls? I’ve gone entire seasons of football viewing and not seen 4 OPI calls in the majority of them. Last night we had 4 in the game.
Might get some argument on that claim of being Ohio's best. Frank never even won a Conference Championship in his 16 years at Ohio. Bill Hess won an AP & UPI College Division National Championship in 1960 and Jim Grobe turned the program around enough to get a Power5 coaching job due to his success in only 6 seasons. Frank won 58% of his games at Ohio. That Win/Loss Percentage gets you fired at any decent football school. He went on to become the best coach in Ohio history and the most underappreciated coach in Nebraska history.
The Mac has produced some pretty good coaches over the years. Out of a lower tier conferences they have one of the best track records.Might get some argument on that claim of being Ohio's best. Then again saying you are the best coach at an Also-Ran conference like the MAC is kinda like being the skinniest kid at Fat Camp
I admittedly know nothing of Ohio football history. It just sounded like a nice rebuttal.Might get some argument on that claim of being Ohio's best.
