Question for the pro Frost guys?

It isn't.

The other one I can't stand is the who will we hire? Jesus fuck. We will pay the next guy 6 mil+ if he justifies it. That is more than all but 1 pac 12 coach iirc. You will have any fucking resource you want including a top tier facility coming. You will be at a blue blood school. The roster is night and day better than it was 4 years ago. It is frankly a very appealing job iyam.

Bottom line is Frost the problem or the solution?

Prior to Today I was thinking he was trending toward the solution and the problem was on his staff.

Today's team struck me as a team that was beat up, tired and needed the bye to get better.

I'm at bare minimum Austin needs to go. You simply can't do what happened at Michigan state and keep your job. You can't take 6 some odd weeks to find your best OL combination twice in four years.

I also think you invest in a full time special teams coach. Now I think that likely means moving Mario to an analyst role and hiring Busch full time. Make him special teams, recruiting and associate HC or some bull shit.

You could convince me either way on Held and Matt. I lean more towards keeping them, but wouldn't be sad if they left.

I have given Frost along rope because the one spot that is most critical was the spot that was most depleted and takes the longest to rebuild. That is the OL. If you don't have a good OL days like today will happen. A good OL erases the fact your QB doesn't have his fast ball and has a bad wheel.

I think we have witnessed some micro improvements here and there on the team.
Why doesn’t Chinander coach a position group like most DCs? That seems like the easiest fix to get the special teams coach. I would still like a good qb coach. Replace Verduzco with someone better. The funniest part is that we are even talking about staff replacements when Frost is going to win 3-4 games in year 4. If everyone would take Frost’s name and past out of their mind they would definitely want him fired. The results aren’t there.

I guess I look at the defense and want to keep it the same because every year it has taken a step forward.

I do see your point though.

In today’s college football if you want to take the next step you need the qb. That is why I don’t think you can take the qb coach for granted.

Is that why we post here? Because we think people give a shit about what we think…?

I just figured it was better than shouting into the void.
Some think if they convince enough people of their opinion the universe will follow.

In all honestly, I was a Bo guy and thought it was stupid to fire him to begin with because Eichorst was highly recommended by Barry Alvarez & all he did was sabotage the football program with the Riley hire. However, I think Shawn moved to slow on wanting to hire Jim McElwain who was eventually fired from Florida 3 years later. In all honestly, I wasn't a fan of the Frost hire and thought that there were better coaches out there than Frost and we should've let him go to Florida and see how he would cut in the SEC first before bringing him home. But we didn't and now we stuck with this dilemma of firing the chosen one because he's a Nebraska guy & played for TO (which sounds stupid like the reasons why Michigan fired Rich Rod and Brady Hoke for not being a Michigan man). To justify firing Frost, I feel that this team needs to get blown out and embarrassed during the last 5 games of the season. With Purdue upsetting Cockeye, I can easily seeing us going 0=5 and finish the season 3-9. Only program stupid enough to retain a coach after 4 losing seasons is possibly Northwestern since Fitzgerald is a NW guy.

As for his replacement, I'm okay with bringing in Bill O'Brian even though he mostly runs a pro style offense which will piss off the old farts. I'm not sold on the Coastal Carolina guy because he's having one good year for beating Kansas and winning in the Sun Belt. It would be nice to bring in Nick Saban, but I doubt we could afford to pay him $12M/year since he's making $9.3M annually right now. Hell, I'd even be okay if we can hire James Franklin away from Pedo State since he seems to get his teams up for the big games as well and understands the BIG. Hindsight is 20/20 on everything and hopefully Turd has a good vision and doesn't do something stupid like bring in Craig Bohl or hire a FCS coach.
