The concept of running NIL “in house” without actually being run “in house” is brilliant and is what most of the big boys are doing.
ABM is essentially a middleman between the players and the businesses.
It’s beneficial because players don’t have to reach out to Runza, Honda of Lincoln, Honest Abe’s, and 17 other local businesses hoping one of them responds and says “yeah, put out 3 tweets about our company and we’ll pay you $10,000.”
Instead, the player reaches out to ABM who has established business relationships with all of these local businesses and donors, and ABM does the rest (likely for a small commission).
The idea, like I said, is brilliant. But like in any business, a middleman is either going to make things run better, or make things run worse. If I have a good vet tech, it makes my job 3x easier. If I have a shitty vet tech, I have to do their job and my job, while cleaning up their messes, and it makes my job 3x harder.
It doesn’t look great for our middleman.
