Walters sucks, will be fired at the end of the year

I bet they go on an undefeated run now that they've done their root cause analysis and made changes.

JK, they won't win another game this season.

Hopefully they hire White and we can get a real DC.

No cap

Maybe we’ll hire Ryan Walters and this thread will come full circle.
Losing White after this season would be a blow...no doubt. Saying anything else is ignorant.

And I have a feeling that our next DC is already on staff, but it would be incredible if we were able to bring in Walters to replace White.

I thought Walters hates Nebraska. He played for sCUm back in the day.

Between Walters and Aranda, and other potential HC casualties like Clark Lea and Justin Wilcox (Wilcox seems to be doing well this year so far though), there are going to be some damn good DCs on the market after this season.

He was a senior captain for CU the year we beat them with the Alex Henry kick and Suh pick 6 so definitely some butthurt.

Money talks though, I think he’s a solid DC, not head coach material though.

Remember when some idiots who definitely weren’t me wanted Harrell hired in 2022?
Definitely wasnt me either, jk it was. Definitely easy to get blinded by his playing days but he was never a good OC looking back.

Aranda is another interesting one. Obviously there is no direct tie to him and Rhule at Baylor, but you have to think that they know a lot of the same people down there.

Could have fooled me on the being a loss part when Illinois was doing whatever they wanted for 4 quarters

I've always wondered if that could happen. Shawn Bell and Joey McGuire were carryovers from Rhule to Aranda. Aranda must also have an assessment of the sort of roster he would be getting to work with at Nebraska as well after taking over Rhule's Baylor team. I also wonder if Aranda would feel like he is meant to be a DC and could be Rhule's next long term DC in that case.

If our universe is the slot in the college football multiverse where White lands a P4 gig after this year and takes Butler with him to be his DC (thus taking away any possible DC succession here), I wouldn't complain at all if that opened the door for Aranda.

I'd be erect if White leaves for an HC and we get Aranda. It's no secret i love Mr Aranda. HC results be damned...
