Mike Ekler seems to have had a decent career after leaving Nebraska.

Donte Williams was DB coach here the year Riley got fired. He upgraded and took the Oregon DB job when Frost was hired. Couple years later was USC’s interim head coach for like an entire season

I saw Papuchis on the FSU sideline. Is Eckler still at Tennessee? Bo’s db coaches besides Sanders have had jobs at good schools. Marvin might have been the best which is funny. Even Els has hung on in the FBS. I know I’m probably missing some. The two others who could have had good jobs are Carl and Kaz, but they fucked themselves.

It was Travis Fisher/Chins.. CTB didnt get his nebraska offer until december 28 of 2017, 3 weeks after Frost was announced as coach. They were after him at UCF too and he was an under the radar guy

Our issue has been the HC and decisions they make at coordinator positions (Cosgrove, Diaco, Chinander....Satterfield?). That is the big stuff and that determines seasons and W/L records.

By and large our assistants have been fine over the last 20 yrs. And I think NU fans give too much blame or credit to position coaches. One position coach doesn't really have the power to determine the entire team season (TPB taters think they do but they're idiots). NU fans will blame an entire loss on like a RB coach or a DB coach or something and that's pretty dumb.

We have had some bad ones though like Verduzco, Held, etc.

He was only here for 1 season so its not like he really had a chance to “bring somebody in” but he did have some big time commits that all flipped when the coaching change happened.

He had Bookie, Blades, and Goodrich all committed at one point- all 4 stars. I think he was the lead recruiter on Tyjon Lindsay as well.

I loved the way Uncle Keith coached but hated the way he recruited, only seemed to go after top prospects only to completely whiff on all of them and never seemed to have a back up plan. Donte seemed to take the exact same approach without being a great coach on top of it.
