Big difference in plays. You just can’t do what he did on the 3rd down play. He has to get that first. Worked out in the end, but it was a terrible play on his part.

Of course there’s a big difference in plays and he has to stay up and pick up the first down. But the first play was rightly called a penalty. Raiola slides and the BC defender launches himself while turning away from the player he’s hitting. If he’s actually looking at Raiola he could’ve adjusted his body and stopped himself from launching.

My point is that you don’t get to demand it two different ways. QBs need to understand whether they’re protected or not. If they have to get down early then you’re going to see a lot of slides short of the first down marker.
