Pinned List of Coaching Hires

Updated to add Peetz.

It's really concerning Raiola offered a portal lineman last night. If he's retained that's a major missed opportunity to improve the staff.
Probably 1 of 2 things. 1, Rhule's main OL coach is still coaching and Raiola is a stop gap till then or 2, Raiola impressed Rhule and stated how young his group is and described what needed to be done but was blocked by Frost or something. Who knows, I'm just throwing mud to see what sticks.

I think it's more likely that Rhule offered the portal lineman and he just tagged Raiola because he is still the current OL coach for Nebraska at this moment.

I agree with @Faux Sean Callahan on this one. Raiola really came together on his offensive line later in the season.

With that said, I still don't think Raiola will be the offensive line coach going forward. He hasn't been 'replaced' yet, so he is technically still interim offensive line coach until Rhule gets his guy in there. And with your coaching duties, you still go ahead and offer guys you believe would be a good fit. Until he gets relieved of his duties, the continuous work could help him with referrals and good graces with Rhule (for a referral or staying on staff).

Yeah, Raiola wouldn't be in my first 10 picks for OL, but the OL did get better last year despite injuries.

If you remember Whipple was out recruiting the day before he signed with us last year. They have to continue to "work" or they can be termed for cause.

Maybe not the fans top 100. And Raiola got a shit end of a stick with this year's offensive line talent so he literally had no way to prove that he was a competent coach to prove that.

But Raiola is exactly the mold that Rhule would look for. Someone with ties to the program already and a bit on the younger side.

I mean Teddy was never 100%, Nouili was suspended because we can't beat a piss test, we had a handful of guys from early classes that were busts and he had an OC/RB who weren't really setting our OL up for success.

It wouldn't shock me at all now that I have witnessed who he is hiring if Raiola is retained.

And ties to a 5* qb 😁

Things I'm Most Waiting for:

1. Do we have Robinson or not?
2. Who is OL coach?
3. Satterfield's Position coaching...hope for TE
4. Mickey/WR Coach/Co-OC? How is this all going to play out? Is Nixon in the fold?

I will not work until these are answered. Pressure is on YOU, HCMKR. Ball is in your court, sir.

I was just going to post something similar.

We have (presumably) 6 of our 10 assistants hired. What are we predicting we'll know by the end of the day today?

Personally, I think if Rhule wants to have all his assistants out on the road recruiting by Friday he'd need to have all of them hired and announced by today. Obviously, negotiations and other things can hold that up, but regardless here is what I think we will know today:

1) Mickey's fate - I think we will know which way this is going today so prepare to potential message board meltdown
2) DC - Robinson seems to be the steam here and, as our potential ace recruiter, I know Rhule would love to have him out on the road ASAP. However with how badly A&M wants him to stay I could see negotiations drawing this out a bit

I'd love to predict we'll know OL and LB today too, but man there has just been no information anywhere about either of these.

I thought Phil Snow was still at Panthers for the time being, but he is not, so I'm kind of surprised he hasn't been hired yet. Same with Geoff Collins. So makes me think there is a tie-up in that position somewhere.

My guess on LB would HAVE to be Siravo - yeah? Likely finishing out the year at Carolina, right? Being in an elevated role, I'd assume he can't just leave.

OL - No GD clue. And all of a sudden people threw out Raiola last night out of nowhere and now I'm living in fear.

Gotta be that we are going for Robinson. I'm sure Snow will come on if we strike out?

Yeah we haven't heard a ton about Collins since a couple people mentioned him last weekend. My guess would be that the hierarchy is:

1) Robinson
2) Collins
3) Snow

Siravo certainly makes the most sense at LB, but as you said perhaps his role with the Panthers is delaying the announcement.
