I’m a little confused as to why Phil is so happy. I mean I get that he basically “won” in the sense that LIV is being recognized and change is happening on the tour, but he also lost at the same time. He seemed to have a huge gripe with Monahan as commissioner and the way things have been handled by him. That seemed to be at least part of the reason he left, more money and less control from people like Monahan. Now, Monahan is still in control (at least for the time being) of the tour, and now is also in charge of LIV. He basically gained more power by doing this.
Meh. I don’t like it. But will watch now because there won’t be another way to watch top level golf and golf is my 2nd favorite sport to watch. Haven’t watched 1 second of LIV coverage.
