Just like players, I don't think Rhule will guarantee anything, but it sure puts him in a good spot to get the job. I think he will get the job, hopefully for the 2026 season. Be nice to keep White for 1 more season and ingrain Butler for over a full calendar year.

I wonder if it was obvious there is a path to be a DC here or if Butler didn't think he'd sit out a year before finding a gig and wants to stay active

Probably a bit of both. Listening to the interview, I think learning under Rhule for a bit might be a part of it.

From the interview, I think he is going to fit in very well. Once again fit is important and fit isn't about a coach's alma matter.
