Losing to Mississippi is one thing, but losing to Mizzou has to open more eyes with Day. I agree though. Franklin hit his ceiling when he was still head coach at Vanderbilt.

The question you always have to ask is, who do they replace him with? They are very good, just not great so they are stuck in Franklin purgatory.

That and the B10 could be very different next season with the potential of Harbaugh going to the NFL. Ohio State, Michigan (50/50 chance), Washington, Oregon, and USC will all be breaking in new QB's.

If I'm PSU, I stick with him for the time being.

The calculus changes a bit starting next season with the 12-team playoff. PSU is at a point where they could be a semi-consistent at-large playoff team. I think firing Franklin may be a “grass is not always greener” situation for them.
