I think it's also indicative of the difference in our fanbases. Nebraska fans notoriously blame the position coaches over the players.

Example: last yr we had a 5th-yr SR WR in Jahmal Banks who had some incredibly lazy perimeter blocking displays in some of our games. Our fanbase's response to that was "this is on the WR position coach - he never taught Banks how to perimeter block!!!"

Like, sometimes you have to just call a player out for lazy effort/poor execution. But I think NU fans think it makes them sound more sophisticated when we call out the position coach by name & blame it on him. Which is dumb.

In tiny baby coach's defense, his entire unit was bad at every aspect of playing wide receiver.

I just think....these players are making $$$ now....you can call them out.

Like those 3rd down conversions Michigan had vs NU in the 4th Q. We had guys in position to make a play on every single one of those. Sometimes the play is drawn up well and the player just flat out doesn't make a play.
