Josh Pate's proposal to fix the college football season and bowl games

I think this is better than we have right now.

1. Entire season starts on Week 0.
2. On Thanksgiving weekend, conference championship games are played.
3. Also on Thanksgiving weekend, take 6 bowls, and the playoff contenders who aren't playing in CCG play each other. All data points.
4. That Sunday, playoff selection.
5. First Saturday of December, round 1 of playoffs. Games on campus.
6. Second Saturday of December, round 2 of playoffs. Game son campus.
7. Third Saturday of December, round 3 of playoffs at neutral sites.
8. Break for Christmas.
9. National Championship games in on New Years day.
10. Immediately after that, signing day and transfer portal window for a few weeks.

Realistically conference championships just need to go away, they won't because networks run the sport but they are useless. Otherwise, I have no problem with this.

Other than you can never expand the tournament past 12 teams. Ain’t nobody signing onto that. Unless I’m misunderstanding his plan you’d have to throw the whole thing out the window the second we go 16 or 24.

Oh I know, I was just making the point that his plan would only work for a short time. Then have to be completely remade.
