Is dumb

Thought an interesting quote from the video was Omaha has 240 homes on the market right now. If it were to be even it would need to be closet to 6,600

Lincoln is the same way too, I was out looking at an acreage just east of Lincoln last week and the agent said there’s like 180 homes on the market and that’s supposed to be upwards of a few thousand.

It’s impossible to buy a house right now

240? Shit, must be nice! I'm in a city about the same size, and currently seeing 180 on Zillow.

Sold my house in Omaha to move back to Chicago, a year later it got sold again for 25% more within days of listing, no improvements, shittier furniture in the listing photos.

fck that town !!

I would assume with the interest rate going up it will get easier to find a house, but then you better have a solid down payment. Part of me actually would prefer a recession if it wipes out inflation, and it’s a time to get deals across the board.

Will be looking for a house in Omaha very shortly, very excited to be back in Nebraska, but the housing prices the last couple years have been out of line with common sense so they are bound for a correction of some sort.

A nice 50% pull back in farmland values would be tits in a couple years.

No way for a small guy to buy land at these whore house prices.

Looking in West Omaha, considering before this I lived in Denver and Charlotte the prices here are far superior even with the decline in supply and for my wife and I is probably the best fit for us. I also think that West Omaha is going to hold or appreciate value very well over the next 10 to 20 years which is the timeframe I am looking to hold the house for.

Same, but not Omaha. Moving from super affordable New England back to the Midwest

It is and very happy I left Omaha for 10 years, but at the end of the day I truly love Nebraska and living here just working through a career change which complicates things, but being General Manager then District Manager of truck stop did not inspire me enough to want to make a career out of it.
