Felt this warranted its own thread separate from the complaints about flying… will probably make one for LNK too at some point.

Anyway, OMA is losing its flight to LGA on American per The Points Guy:

I’ve taken that flight about 20 times over the past 2.5 years. Sucks to lose the nonstop to the northeast. Luckily I’ve just completed a few big jobs out that way and don’t have a reason to be consistently going back and forth anytime soon.

With CAE, only thing I can think of is there are an assload of Northeastern transplants in the Carolinas now that seemingly could support the route on a consistent basis. NYC is consistently one of the top 5 destinations from CLT as an example across all 3 airports.

With Burlington, I am not really sure other than probably lower cost to operate than flying to OMA.

There are ~6 flights a day from Columbia to Charlotte (a 75 minute DRIVE), if you can believe it. They must’ve figured out that 1/6 of those people go on to LGA.

Wonder if this has anything to do with American starting a Oma - Philly direct flight the end of June.

I’d like for American to bring back the OMA-MIA direct flight that was running for a few years.. nice to see the CLT service increase to 3x/day starting this month too
