See, that is actually a rational, non-emotional argument. Totally legit argument to make. We'll know for sure after 3 yrs which was the better hire.

The problem is, #2ndChoice is taking over a WAY better program, so his W/L expectation should be higher. But you won't take that into account. You'll do a victory dance 1Q into the 2023 season if it looks like #2ndChoice was the better hire (you don't need to respond to this, we both know it's true).
I just don’t believe Wisconsin is that much better than us though. I was at the game last year and we led 14-3 going into the 4th quarter. Any sort of clock management ability at all and we win that game.

Also i fully hope i am wrong about Rhule. There’s nothing i want more than for Nebraska football to be great again. I just can’t be a koolaid drinker anymore and let the shitposting take over

I think #2ndChoice & Wisconsin are going to experience a Nebraska west coast transformation. They probably have a great defense then their offense won’t have any pieces to fit it. If Simms is ok & uncle Donny doesn’t fuck us with OL, I can see us “out-Wisconsining” Wisconsin. I also think Cockeye will definitely beat em for this reason

Yeah I do understand the meaning, just curious where the actual word comes from?
Basically made up as a modern term, with some vague reference to previous slang where cap has to do with exaggerating, hiding, or outdoing. Tons of different origin stories claimed, here's one of the more common ones:

I admit I get a kick out of people who respond like its not a complete troll. So does the duck.
I'm actually willing to entertain the Rhule vs #2ndChoice conversation, if it's held rationally.

I was like 50-50 on it. There was a time I would have been 75-25 for #2ndChoice. But learning more about Rhule and his history and his personality, I think Turd made the right call. The NU HC has to have a strong personality IMHO (unless you have a 0.850 win % like TO). Also the whole Texas connection. Success w rebuilds. Grinder 20-hr work day mentality.

I'm pretty confident that we got the right guy for what Nebraska needed at this point in time. But I'm willing to admit it will be an intriguing comparison over the next 3 yrs.

The reality is, Wisconsin's program has been on MUCH more solid footing over the past 10 years so the two are different challenges. Rhule has a complete rebuild ahead of him (culture, infrastructure and roster). And #2ndChoice just has to keep an already strong program going, while making his own tweaks (these are his words, not mine).

Wisconsin will have a better W/L than Nebraska this year, but that won't mean that #2ndChoice is the better HC or would have been the better hire. I'll need 3 full seasons to make that assessment.

Cant really disagree other than to say I've been all in on Rhule from the first time Garret posted about his visit.

If Rhule can’t get it done we are well and truly fucked.

No doubt. So far he has done ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING right in my eyes, with how well he has simultaneously embraced NU culture with one hand while building his own culture with the other, it feels very healthy in an authentic way, he clearly has an extremely well-thought-out plan and knows how he wants to execute it, he's been a role model/therapist for the fans, he's just been a home run in every way.

I just pray to the evil sports gods that the actual football side of things goes well too. It's a little harder to project that part of it until we start seeing games.

Man, Carolina fans are some bitter exes...

I think it’s cuz they aren’t familiar with coaching failures. Two successful coaches (John fox/Ron Rivera) in nearly the last 2 decades then Rhule is only coach #5 for their franchise & immediately failed
