Official 2025 Nebraska Cardiac Beaver Slayers Baseball Thread (7-8) - Huskers On Fire, 3 game winning streak

Jesske grounds to SS. UCLA wasn't going to double off Jesske. Out is Nunez at second.

Now Stone to the plate.

Man it would be nice if Stone could show his power here and take one yard.

Got some context -

The Umpire apparently doesn't like our home run celebration we've done on EVERY homer this year. He pushed the guys back very quickly on that one.

Overbeek went down looking for another K.

But we have a brand new ballgame.

Walsh back out for the 6th.

Thoughts on Walsh -

He has "good" stuff. But he doesn't have elite stuff. What he does that Horn needs to learn how to do is take what he has that day and find a way to be effective.

Tom Glavine use to say you're going to have your A+ stuff 20% of the time. You're going to get smacked around 10% of the time where no matter what you do you're going to get pissed on. Its what you do with your other 70% of your outings where you have to bear down and use what you have that night and be effective that makes the difference between good and great.

Walsh does that to this point very effectively. Horn needs to learn this piece of pitching.

Huskers are really starting to see the ball well. Carey barrels up the third ball of the night, but right to the left fielder. Nothing to be ashamed of tonight for him.

UCLA going to the bullpen to bring on a lefty to face Bolin and the top of the order.

Sanderson barrels a ball up.

But....

Right to the SS who flips to the bag at second and onto first for the double play.

Nothing to be too mad at that inning if you're Nebraska. Some hard hit balls that simply didn't find spots to land.

Huskers currently with more hits than UCLA.

Walsh back out for the 7th.

Not sure on who is in the bullpen.
