Add Pickle Smoochers to the list of regional programs passing Nebraska up.

Fuck you Dannen (Alberts & Moos too)

Looks like they got 30 mil from "The State of Nebraska’s Shovel-Ready Fund" (which pays for up to 50% of stuff, but requires matching funds from the org or donors) & further got 2 mil from the CWS.

So they get a 60 mil project (includes some academic or dorm buildings) for 28 mil or less.

Can we do that?

Pickle Smoochers has been on a fucking tear the last 7-10 years. Construction project after construction project and they’ve got more coming down the pipeline. 10 years ago they were in the red financially, so I wonder where they’re getting all their money.

I'd bet the Big East raised their school profile significantly. Instead of being grouped with Drake and Evansville, they are grouped with Georgetown, Marquette, Xavier, etc. Probably recruit students a lot better.

Dont worry, our facilities are just fine according to our instagram account.

Maybe can fill up the comment section, looks like the first comment was about pickle smoochers

Let's actually look at the "facilities for baseball"...

1st picture = Memorial Stadium
2nd & 3rd picture = Hawks Field

4th & 5th pictures = Memorial Stadium
6th thru 9th pictures = Memorial Stadium (repetitive pics)

10 picture = Memorial Stadium (Suh weight room)

11th picture = Hawks Field
12th picture = Alex Gordon Center, 18K SF 😂

No pictures of the 30x90-100 (guesstimate) weight room inside the AGC. No pictures of the small IF where we can't take a legit IF. No pictures of the 3 batting cages. No pictures of drawing back the cage netting so we can then drag out portable pitching mounds to pitch. No pictures of the locker-rooms, dated 20 years ago. No picture of the small lounge area where tables are brought in. No picture of the ping-pong table, yippee! No pictures of the bullpens, without technology. No pictures of the coaches offices, which aren't bad as they're connected to Hawks Field and have updates from Erstad's era. We do have a legit scoreboard, that unfortunately doesn't display accurate data (analytics) because we refuse to pay a company to fix the damn thing. Which in case is worthless for us to get true data during individual workouts, practices, scrimmages, games, etc.

And that doesn't include dugouts that are too small, but the playing surface is really, really good. And that's because we no longer allow NSAA to host the state tournament at Hawks Field. Those 7 days ruin the field, according to the Saltdogs.

But hey, we got a lot of stuff at Memorial Stadium - some of it we can't even use, or have to schedule months ahead of time, then when weather is bad we're shit out of luck.

That could be it and they do have a Phoenix campus now too, so they’ve probably got a lot coming in

I think the goal was for 30k, but I think enrollment is down for college across the nation so maybe that factors in? For Pickle Smoochers, I would bet most people (still) dont even know where Pickle Smoochers is located. I'd imagine joining the Big East opened recruiting from the East Coast specifically so they can get more out of state tuition, but this just speculation.

OBA = .262, .247 v .251, .258, .236
