Such an odd decision, borderline insane to move to Starkville IMO. If you want an SEC job, one will probably open up soon.

It’s a good baseball job, but not better than UVA and Starkville blows. He could have just about picked anywhere to go

The college baseball landscape has completely flipped. If things haven't changed (NIL, portal, extending JUCO's) and we're still stuck in 2020-2021 rules, BO'C stays at UVA.

Virginia has minimal NIL and no commitment moving forward. Heavy restrictions on portal acceptance, same with JUCO which is dang near non-existent. An AD that isn't too interested in the baseball program.

Mud State has everything a coach wants; Baseball friendly AD, insane fan base (10K per game), NIL commitments top 3-4 in the nation, "lowered standards" - as in it's unlimited number - for portal & JUCO (the game is going "older"), elite conference. None of that is a possibility at UVA.

Counter point, you have to live in Mississippi

Things like this is what I hate about college sports now days. UVA, a perennial power is going of likely start to fall the wayside

I hear ya, probably the most important thing to a college coach is the ability to be successful. Just cant imagine moving to Starkville IF I was that successful. I suppose SEC baseball jobs dont open every day and he could always go somewhere else if he wanted.
