I’ve not been able to see much of the games so far. But from the little I’ve seen and I’m hearing on the radio:
1) Sears’ stuff is legit and he’s going to be tough on big ten hitters. He’s not just a strike thrower.
2) Horn loves his fastball and he’s supremely confident he can get outs with it. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s thrown that fastball over 60% of the time so far.
3) We are going to strike out a fair amount of times this year and we’ll just have to deal with it. Strikeouts aren’t the worst thing though and many pro orgs don’t care nearly as much as they did 15 years ago. We could cut these down if we so chose, but I’m not sure I want to alter the entire approach to do so.
