Official 2022 Husker Baseball Thread (23-30)

*Tell me you don't know shit about College Baseball without saying it*
I'll say it, I don't know much about College Baseball other than a little bit about who the blue bloods are and that we used to have good teams in the Big 12. Last year was the first year in a long time that I followed pretty closely.

Sam Houston has a good baseball program. They went to a super regional a few years ago. It would have been nice to get at least 2 wins against them but we are just too rusty at the moment, and we are missing the senior leadership from last year's team.

SHSU is a good squad. They'll finish near the top of the WAC. Probably make it to a regional. That's a tough test this early for a Husker team that lost some great talent and leadership.

There's definitely plenty of talent for the Big Red, so I'm not worried. They just need to lock in. Starting pitchers need to step up. Can't give the team just 10 innings in 4 games.

Good stuff. I figured SHSU was pretty decent. B1G also isn't very good so we could still go on a run.

I still think overall we may look a bit worse than last year simply because we are replacing a lot of old talent with a lot of really young talent. But I think that young talent has the potential to be even better and maybe hit their stride late in the year to give us a fun postseason run.

This is a Husker team that I hope could make a regional, but I don't necessarily expect them to. They should be competitive with everyone in the Big Ten and have a chance to challenge really good teams when they're playing well, but they just don't yet have the arms to be a consistently good team. There's a lot of reason for optimism looking forward, though.

I haven’t been following the preseason much, what is Drew Christo’s role going to be?

He threw a few pitches in game 3. I think he struck a guy out, hit a guy, and then gave up a home run.
