Notre Dame

I've spelled this out on other sites previously, but if Notre Dame joins a conference fully it won't be the B1G, it will be the ACC. The reason is that they are a religiously affiliated school, and there are NO other schools in the B1G that are. The ACC conversely consists of several other schools who are: Boston College (which is another Jesuit school like ND), Duke, Wake Forest, SMU and Stanford offers PHD's and lower degrees in religion and divinity.

The reason that this is important to these schools is that they need to feel that their choices of religion are not going to simply be out-voted by secular schools.

It is simply never going to happen that ND will join the B1G for that reason alone.
ND's relationship with the ACC is on life support after this season, and now that the ACC is the clear #4 conference, there's not much benefit to joining them

ND is a G6 mascarading as a P2 stud.

ND's claims and SOS and losses:
jurassic park deal with it GIF

I'm certain I had heard of this carve out for them previously, but I wasn't aware it started next year. I don't why this would be news to other P4 schools. I think they had a similar carve out with the previous playoff iteration.

MOU don’t really hold up in court right?
CFP can still do whatever the fuck they want

Na, money wins

It’s Big Ten or SEC and they ain’t joining the SEC

ACC won’t be around 5-10 years from now anyway

You forget that ND thumbs their noses at everyone and anyone. Nobody will be good enough and the ACC doesn't have any Catholic schools.

ND doesn't care about Dook, Wake Forest, SMU, nor Stanford.

ND wants to play G6 games against other Catholic schools and then beat their chest that they should be #1.

Douchebag of the year goes to ND.

I mean this is hyperbole. They reached the natty last year no G5 team will ever reach the semis.
Let’s be real: ND wants to schedule a G5 schedule yet be treated a P2 school.

If they want to not be looked at like they’re whiny little bitches, then join a P2 conference.

Until that happens, they can get fucked.

This year, sure. We screwed the pooch.

Next year, absolutely fucking not. And and would NEVER willingly schedule anything close to what we have next year.

Also, don’t start 0-2.
I don’t even think they should’ve got in, but acting like they play some crazy easy schedule is just not true. They play like a mid 40s SOS. It is also not their fault USC is pussies.

Tell me you’re making disingenuous argument without telling you’re making disingenuous arguments.

Did you read the tweet? They were getting preferential treatment. Everyone else is telling them to pound sand.

Who is dickriding who again?

I mean if I was ND and had as much if not more power than entire "major" conferences I would do the same shit. Good for them, everyone would get preferential treatment if they could.

Notre Dame played a harder schedule than Nebraska this year. Crazy dickriding.

ND has 2 playoff teams on their schedule so I’d probably give them a slight edge. Outside of that I’d rather have ND’s schedule. USC is a wash cause we both played them. But here’s the rest of our schedules head to head… (only top 75 FPI)

Nebraska:
Cincinnati
Michigan
Cockeye
Penn State
Minnesota
Northwestern
Utah*

Notre Dame:
Miami
aTm
Boise St
NC State
Navy
Pitt

Nebraska - Tier 1 teams (Top 50 FPI)
Michigan
USC

USC

Nebraska - Tier 2 (Top 75 FPI)
Cincinnati
Minnesota
Penn State (tier 1 talent)
Northwestern

Notre Dame - Tier 2
Boise St
NC State
Navy
Pitt

Neither schedule is great and neither team should be in with a 10-2 record and those schedules IMO.

100%. I don’t think anybody here was advocating for Nebraska to be considered for the CFP.

Strawman attacks and all.
