At the end of the day it's like the Royals competing with the Yankees. Without salary caps/revenue sharing pro sports would be super lopsided too. You can bitch about it but fact is there's way more money at Texas than there is in Nebraska. We are so fucking backwards in Nebraska. Such a fucking hick state who will forever be stuck in the 90s and doing things the “right way” even when the “wrong way” is perfectly fine and legal. It’ll be this way forever or at least until the blue hairs croak. Why can’t our boosters do shit like this? If we ever want to compete again we have to PAY THE PLAYERS JUST TO BE THERE. Texas linemen collecting a minimum $150k salary and we have fucking pheasant hunts.
The thing that pisses me off even more is you know Dean has a raging hard on about these pheasant hunts and thinks they are great and going to put us way ahead on shit like this. That’s the mindset of most of this backwoods state. They think we are doing great when we’re getting fucked. It’s the same thing with frost “this is Nebraska this is different so he needs more time rabble rabble rabble” yeah it’s fucking different because we have the dumbest most ass backwards fan base in college football. Forever stuck in the 90s.
God I hate Nebraska.

Jim’s point was that a place like Texas has a lot more big boys (donors) to play ball with than NebraskaSweet. We’ve just accepted being a G5 school. 3-9 4 Lyfe.
This attitude is the problem. Play big boy ball or quit pretending to be a big boy. We’re done.

Aren't we still trying to raise money to finish the facilities? If we can raise the money for the facilities, we can drum up salaries for our players. We have a fucking loser attitude because too many believe in the long defunct “Nebraska way”

1150 is a stealWould rather pay 1150 to hang with Frost and the boys, golf, drink, cocaine, bang cart girls and get kicked out of a country club. Head over to Gate 25 for more drinking and cocaine and bang waitresses upstairs.
A lot of the funds could be diverted from already existing donations related to tickets, suites, etc.Donors would need to raise close to 12 million a year for NIL deals to compete with the big boys.
Warren gives us a bil and we are taking care of for the next 50+ years in this department.
I don't think the University can have any hand in paying the players. Has to come from third parties.A lot of the funds could be diverted from already existing donations related to tickets, suites, etc.
Instead of overpaying for season tickets above face value, you contribute to the “Husker Victory Fund” or whatever that is loosely affiliated with the university. That entity funnels NIL payments to players across the entire athletic department.
The big losers in the whole NIL are going to be all of these fat cat do-nothing admins in ADs across the country, and coaches to a lesser extent. They’ll be the first ones to get cut when booster funds start to get diverted.
Right…”loosely affiliated” is the key word.I don't think the University can have any hand in paying the players. Has to come from third parties.
I think you get to diminishing returns at some point.Jim’s point was that a place like Texas has a lot more big boys (donors) to play ball with than Nebraska
