Dylan is fully bought in to the idea that he’s the savior and apparently so is the rest of this board/Husker nation. I absolutely hate that. Husker fans have had enough false prophets in the last 20 years that you’d think they’d learn their lesson. The last thing we need is another savior.

Ultimately it comes down to production. If he can back up all his talk and swagger, great. I’m bearish on that, though.

One of the major strengths about Dylan coming out of high school was he was so polished. He studied like a pro, worked like a pro. He was closer to a finished product than any other prospect. So why shouldn’t we believe that now?

He had a 3/3 td int ratio in the 4 games with Holgo. He had a 13/11 td int ratio on the season and that’s not counting some absolutely bonehead fumbles in critical moments.

Offense needs to average 10 more pts a game next year. To do that Dylan needs, at a minimum, to add a td pass/game. He needs to cut his turnovers in half. So that’s a 25/7 td int ratio, and eliminate the fumbles. He needs to improve by 84% next year. Thats a huge leap.

We’re asking the kid who everyone agreed was turn key prospect to suddenly get way better in one offseason. I don’t see it. More likely he’ll improve a little and plateau and we’ll be left, once again, paying top dollar for a false prophet. That’s my worry anyway. Hope I’m wrong.

I think that making the CFP every few years is a realistic expectation for this program in the long run.
That's a good discussion - to provide terms/definitions for success in this new era. Didn't Bill Moos do this for NU hoops a couple years ago? IIRC he said expectation here should be NCAA tourney 3 out of every 7 yrs or something like that. Anyone remember?

I think CFP will morph into more of a top 12 discussion moving forward. So the question is, how many yrs do you expect NU to finish in the top 12? I gotta say 2 out of every 4 yrs NU should be finishing the regular season in the top 12.

If you look at this year's top 12, that shouldn't be too hard for Nebraska to crack. (no one knows how they'll be doing at-large bids in the future, so I'm saying top 12)

Most likely scenario is a Sophomore slump (because Nebraska).

What were your expectations for him year 1? Win the heisman? God forbid the kid grows from year 1 to year 2. And bitching about paying top dollar? Are you kidding? Should we not pay an ass load of money for the best players going forward? Oh btw he broke the record for passing yards for a husker freshman.

I think Dylan played about as well as we could have expected for a freshman in the current B1G. Adrian probably had a better freshman year statistically, but he also had Stanley Morgan and JD Spielman at WR. Also, if we’re being honest, Frost runs circles around Satt in terms of OC ability. Raiola definitely had some low points, but he’s not a huge choke artist and he has all of the resources available to improve. I’d expect to see a jump next year.

I think I had pretty reasonable expectations.

2500 yards passing
Over 60% completion
2/1 td int ratio (was hoping for anything better than 18/9)

Historically In the big 10 any qb who throws 20 or more has a team that’s done well. That would’ve been great, but not my expectation for year 1.

If he makes a jump next year & we’re not sniffing the CFP, I think he’ll hit the portal & go to a contender. Year 3 will be more about exposure & the nfl so if Nebraska is an 8 win squad, he going bye bye

I disagree with the amount of experience that will be coming back in 2026.

the thing is now Holgerson can begin installing his offense. and if you look at the last 20
years of Holg qbs, almost all of them throw for 3000+ 30tds 10 picks

I am fine with the DR confidence and swagger, he has the skills to back it up and now that Satt is not actively destroying his career before it began I think there are reasons to be excited for a jump next year.
